On September 10, Ambassador He Rulong called on Minister Hanna Katrín Friðriksson of Industries of Iceland. Counsellor Yang Jing attended the meeting.

Ambassador He stated that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iceland. Thanks to frequent high-level exchanges, mutual political trust between the two countries has continued to deepen. The China–Iceland direct flight to be inaugurated in late October will further promote bilateral trade and people-to-people exchanges. China stands ready to work with Iceland to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continuously deepen cooperation in fisheries, tourism, geothermal energy and other areas, with a view to delivering greater benefits to two countries and two peoples.
Minister Hanna Katrín Friðriksson stated that Iceland stands ready to make joint efforts with the Chinese side, taking the opening of the Iceland–China direct flight as an opportunity, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism and other areas, so as to push forward bilateral ties , and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
